Bond, Dexter, and Cuddly Kittens...

Bit of a punt here with a short weekend review...

Finally got to the new Bond flick - enjoyed it a lot...Mr. Craig was great and the opening 'jump' chase was spectacular - but agree that it was too long (or at least naive to think the ten minute 'he's really in love and will drop everything for this woman to lie on a beach and smooch in the sand' sequence would fool anyone or at least be able to create any sadness in viewer when all went south) - perhaps the ladies in the audience bought in...

Managed to attend a few holiday get togethers...very nice. But got stuck twice...once trying to pull out of a parking spot, and once just trying to exit an alley. Too much unploughed snow, City!

Took the plunge and got a Xmas kitten for the kids - a 'unique' kitty with six toes on one paw. But spent way too much time placing ornaments higher on the tree and cleaning up messes and listening to meowing late into night (there's always a but). Still, its all good - the kids are thrilled and that's the point. (Support your local Animal Shelter)

Another cool music video teaser for your entertainment - REM's 'Imitation Of Life' from 2001.

This is the kind of video that me and my DOP (Director of Photography) pals would discuss for hours trying to figure out 'how they did it?'...but were never able to try any of the cool tricks ourselves in the land of tv series. Never enough time or money.

No 'but's' however for the season finale of 'Dexter'. Found it entertaining and exciting (nice reveals and no real idea which way it might go...guess you have that in your court when your hero is also a serial killer) and ultimately satisfying. And really interested now in reading the source book 'Darkly Dreaming Dexter' to see how they grew it into a series as that's something I'm attempting to do now with a different novel.

But I'm betting it's all in the execution...

'Meow'

Cheers.

Six toed cats are lucky and they are treasured by sailors. If you ever go sailing take your cat!

I have a six toed cat in one of my stories. Hemingway had a house full of them.

Full respect to your cat!

Bezackly. Hemingway Cats are supposed to bring good luck and good fortune. If you ever go to Key West, they have a whole herd of them who still live at Hemingway House and are decended from the original cat he cot from the ship's captain.

Good omen for the Dix family for the future, and good karma for you for adopting a lost soul who needed a family to love. I think we need to see a photo (if Jutra can post Benton, you can post the new addition). Does kitty have a name yet?

At least a kitty will be more self-reliant. No walks in the park required.

Ah, the Hemingway cats. Well, at least their lives turned out all right. Even if they do drink from a urinal.

Two more episodes of Dexter to go for me. Looking forward to seeing how that turns out.

By the way, that REM video is really bugging me. I can understand why they employed hard zooms, because the cushions always look wrong when the footage is reversed, but the back and forth.... Argh!

Aww, my kitty has 6 toes on each paw. My brother called him Chernobyl Kitty (tells you how old the cat is - not really a kitty). A friend calls him Hemingkitty. I don't know if he's good luck but he's the sweetest, dumbest cat I've ever had.

Man...isn't cat talk supposed to signify the death of the blog?

Lexi is the tentative name, but don't expect any pics. I'm still sans any sort of digital camera, 35mm Pentax K1000 manual for this old schooler.

Yup. That's why I'm talking about my cat on your blog, not mine.

Blah blah Bond, blah blah Dexter, but OOOH! OOOH! Fuzzy kitties! Gotta get in on that action.

I think your fans have spoken. We need a cat shot. Preferably with toe.

A mutant kitty? Wicked!

To save you from the kittie talk, just saw the season finale of Dexter.

Really excellent. Or should I say nicely executed?

Shame it wasn't made by MTM. Would have been nice to see what they animated onto the cat logo at the end.

.....damn!

Cool blog. Just stumbled across it. I love Dexter and had no idea it came from a book - now I'm going to have to rush out to get that book, too.
