Sorry 'Bout That...

...lost my mind for a couple of hours. Funny the things we do or say sometimes to get through it all. Some people can turn those funny things into a career. Aaron Barnhart at the Kansas City Star gives a big thumbs up for Everybody Loves Raymond' creator Phillip Rosenthal's new book "You're Lucky You're Funny: How Life Becomes A Sitcom."

Sounds like a fun read. Maybe even a laugh or two.

When I get some time, I think I'll check it out.

SONG&ARTIST? - "The light in the window is a crack in the sky
A stairway to darkness in the blink of an eye
A levee of tears to learn she'll never be coming back
The man in the dark will bring another attack
Your momma told you that you're not supposed to talk to strangers
Look in the mirror tell me do you think your life's in danger
Here ya..."

I'm surprised that Ozzy's No More Tears didn't send you on a crazed rampage of the critics, Will... ;-)

We’ll if it is any good let me know - a good book is a great thing to have on rainy days.

You know Will a few more posts on "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Yeah, the book's receiving good reviews everywhere you look. But at only 240 pages or so, I'll wait until I can get a cheap copy on ebay or Amazon.

Incidentally, there's a 26 minute radio interview with Philip Rosenthal over at www.harisonline.com
- just scroll down to the blog headed Philip Rosenthal.

It's real up to date too, as he starts the interview by wishing everyone a Happy Halloween. He tells of how the Amy character only got that part because she agreed to sleep with the producer.

She's his wife! I didn't know that.

It's also interesting to hear him explain why everybody would pass on ELR if it was offered up today. He also says he resigned/or offered to resign over the choice to play the Debbie character. You're left to guess who he refused to countenance for the part - but wasn't it the gorgeous Maggie Wheeler? (The high-pitched-nasal-laughing Janice from Friends).

And shame on those responsible for turning down his spin-off sitcom of Robert and Amy, (apparently they were considered too old!). If they turn down stuff from this guy - what hope is there?!?

Riddley: One of these times I will stump you. Oh yes. I will.

Crashie: will do

Portnoy: I'm doing the research my friend...doing the research.

danny-k: welcome! thanks for the additional info

And you go Caroline...reading something other than blogs is a good thing - something I should start doing myself.

Thanks for the welcome Will.

Doh! Just noticed, for anyone trying to follow the link in my posting I've misspelled it - missed out an ' r '. Should have been www.harrisonline.com

(Shhh... Don't tell English Dave about my spelling).

Damn, I fell behind on my daily blog readings and got scooped by Riddley on the "No More Tears" answer. Seriously, has Ozzy done a better song in the past 15 years? Plus one of the most underrated metal guitar solos.

Hope you're back up off mat, Dixon! Keep on swingin'.

By the way, one of the best things about this blog is reading the mystery song lyrics and saying to myself "yeah I gotta go put that CD on. Haven't heard it in a while."

Randy Rhoads, then Zakk Wylde...Ozzy has had some wicked guitarists in the lair.

Hehehe, guys I know exactly what you mean! It was Will quoting Crazy Train that got me back listening to the Ozzmeister at saturation level again.

I'm pretty damn keen on his "Perry Mason" too - great solo, and continent-spanning riff-mongery.

Superb! ;-)
