"It’s The Likability, Stupid."

That's a quote from one of our fav TV reviewer/critics, Aaron Barnhart, courtesy the Kansas City Star and his TV Barn blog. And he serves up two good articles this week: one about the hits and turkeys from this fall's tv season offerings; and the other about the chances he gives 'Day Break'...to succeed, in his opinion.

'Day Break' was okay. It's a slick, fast-paced variation on '24' as I see it. And I will watch again this week, if anything to gaze upon the fineness that is the character of Taye Diggs girlfriend in the series...an actress with the coolest name that didn't come from a Bond flick or Austin Powers movie: Moon Bloodgood.


Mmmm...me likability.

    Hmm,

    My only comment is that a big difference between the hit serials (Heroes) and the loosers (Kidnapped) was in the cliffhangers.

    Even though I found the characters and story of the first couple of Heroes kind of bland, their cliffhangers knocked them out of the park and made you WANT to come back.

    I guess the lesson in a serialized drama is not to just ask the audience for a comittment, but make them really desire to come back, not realizing they are comitting to something.

    all true...but I'm also of the mind if EVERY series was built around cliffhangers - there'd still be only a couple of hits...it's like if one (or two) are doing it well - that will satisfy our weekly urge for that style of story-telling.

    My God, just think what it would be like if every channel in every time slot had a quality drama that you wanted to watch.

    We need programmes we just don't like to get on with the trivial things like eating, working, sleeping, and browsing the internet.

    Tangental question ... I was watching Kidnapped and wanted to watch the last four eps. online but can't access them from the US site. Help. Where do I find them? Or how do I do that change my IP to a US one mojo that everyone but me knows how to do?
