Montreal, I'm Sorry...
..okay, enough 'future of entertainment business' news info and speculation......my heart goes out to all the victims in the Montreal student shootings today.
Speaking as a member of the Gothic sub-culture to which this tormented young man belonged (we both perused the www.vampirefreaks.com website) I can honestly say that, while I absolutely DO NOT condone or excuse what he did, I think I understand where his head and heart were when he decided to commit this heinous act of violence. There are a lot of young people out there who are hurting so badly, they just want to die in a blaze of glory and destruction. I saw a lot of that as a teenager, and now councel young'uns in the Goth/punk/homeless community who are teetering on the verge of self-destruction, as I once did.
It could have been so much worse. SO much worse.

ReplyDelete...just sad, unfortunate and dissapointing.
But Webs is right- it coulda been far worse.
A horrible thing. More terrible because the motivation is so hard to understand.
